REQUEST FOR OCCUPATIONALLY SPECIFIC TRAINING

Providers of occupationally specific training are welcome to submit applications, at anytime, for occupational training directly related to the WSRCA’s Target Occupations List (see EXCEL attachment below). The WSRCA is in need of training programs for the five new occupations listed below. To fast track applications for these programs, contact Jenna Akridge at jenna.akridge@ruralcapital.net.   WSRCA requires training providers be a post-secondary educational institution that receives federal funds under Title IV of the Higher Education Act or a career school or college currently licensed by the Texas Workforce Commission.   Effective October 1, 2014, the following occupations will be added to the WSRCA Target Occupation List:

  • Computer-Controlled Machine Tool Programmers, Metal & Plastic (51-4012)
  • Machinists (51-4041)
  • Plumbers, Pipefitters & Steamfitters (47-2152)
  • Telecommunications Equip Installers & Repairers (49-2022)
  • Telecommunications Line Installers & Repairers (49-9025)

Effective October 1, 2014, the following occupations will be removed from the WSRCA Target Occupation List:

  • Automotive Body and Related Repairers (49-3021)
  • Bus and Truck Mechanics and Diesel Engine Specialists (49-3031)
  • Insurance Claims and Policy Processing Clerks (43-9041)
  • Operating Engineers & Other Construction Equipment Operators (47-2073)
  • Truck Drivers, Heavy and Tractor-Trailer (53-3032)

Training providers must apply on-line at the Texas Workforce Commission’s Eligible Training Provider System. Once processed by WSRCA and certified by the Texas Workforce Commission, the training program is placed on the Statewide List of Eligible Training Providers.
