Rural Capital Area Unemployment Rate decreases to 3.1% in November

CEDAR PARK, Texas ⎯ In November 2023, the unadjusted unemployment rate in the Rural Capital Area of Central Texas decreased to 3.1 percent, according to data released by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). This means that 3.1 percent of the workforce in the nine-county Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) were actively seeking employment, totaling 20,380 residents. Additionally, there were more than 21,164 job openings available online across various industries*.
Since November 2022, the local labor force has grown by 24,631 residents, with 23,142 of them successfully finding employment within the area. In November, the unemployment rates in the WSRCA counties were as follows:
· Blanco: 2.3 percent (down from 2.8 in October)
· Burnet: 2.7 percent (down from 3.0 percent in October)
· Hays: 2.9 percent (down from 3.3 percent in October)
· Lee County: 3.2 percent (down from 3.4 percent in October)
· Williamson County: 3.1 percent (down from 3.5 percent in October)
· Bastrop County: 3.0 percent (down from 3.3 percent in October)
· Fayette County: 2.9 percent (down from 3.3 percent in October)
· Caldwell: 3.1 percent (down from 3.3 percent in October)
· Llano County: 3.3 percent (down from 3.6 percent in October)
In comparison to the statewide unemployment rate, decreased to 3.5 percent**, the region's unemployment figures in November remained lower. The statewide rate also aligned with the national rate, which stayed at 3.5 percent**.
