Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area offers resources to help you prepare for your job search. Staff can guide you through building a strong résumé, preparing for interviews, and using our primary job search tool, WorkInTexas.com. Our Career Resource Libraries also offer helpful videos, books, and additional job search tools.

You can also access computers and the internet in our Resource Rooms to work on résumés or job applications. Copy machines, fax machines, and adaptive equipment for customers with physical impairments are available to support your job search. For more details about the equipment, please visit or contact the Workforce Solutions office nearest you.

Workshops are available on résumé writing, interviewing, and other job search topics. Check the events calendar for upcoming dates and times.

Attending job fairs is a great way to connect directly with employers and learn about growing industries. View the events calendar to find job fairs in your area.

You can also access labor market information to better understand job trends, wages, and occupations in demand locally and statewide. Visit Rural Capital Headlight for updated labor market data and job opportunities.

If you qualify for one of our Workforce programs, career interest and skill assessments are available at Workforce Solutions offices.

Even if you don’t qualify, there are free online tools anyone can use to explore careers and education options. Some helpful resources include Career OneStop’s Pathways to Career Success, O*NET Online, the Career Interests Game, and Labor Market and Career Information available at Rural Capital Headlight.

The Texas Workforce Commission and Metrix Learning are offering job seekers free access to 5,000+ online courses to upgrade your skills and prepare for job opportunities. The Texas Workforce Commission offers a variety of services to help job seekers and employers. These include unemployment benefits, wage claim assistance, child labor law information, and more.

For unemployment benefits, you can apply, check your claim status, and get answers to common questions online or by calling the TWC Tele-Center at (800) 939-6631, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time.

If you have questions about wage claims or child labor laws, the TWC Labor Law Section is available at (800) 832-9243.

Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area is proud to be a “We Hire Vets” employer, dedicated to supporting veterans and eligible spouses. Honorably discharged veterans and eligible spouses receive priority access to workforce center resources, including computers, phones, training programs, and personalized staff assistance.

Our Veterans Resource and Referral Specialists collaborate with the Texas Workforce Commission’s Texas Veterans Leadership Program (TVLP) and the Texas Veterans Commission to provide tailored employment, training, family support, disability claims assistance, and financial resources. We especially support veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

The Texas Operation Welcome Home campaign offers guidance on working, living, and accessing resources in Texas, including the We Hire Vets employer recognition program.
