Layoff Assistance for Employers

Facing a layoff or business closure is never easy—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) offers no-cost transition and re-employment services to help you support your employees during times of workforce reduction.

For Layoffs of Fewer Than 50 Employees

We can provide informational meetings at your work site for layoffs of less than 50 workers. These informational meetings provide your employees with valuable resources to assist them in making the transition to a new job. The affected workers will receive basic information on accessing their unemployment insurance benefits and referrals to the Career Centers

For Layoffs of 50 or More Employees

When a layoff impacts 50 or more workers, our team can deliver on-site services tailored to meet the needs of your workforce. These may include:

  • Guidance on publicly funded job search resources
  • Unemployment insurance information and how to file
  • Professional development workshops (resumes, interviewing, salary negotiation)
  • Financial planning and stress management resources
  • Referrals to crisis counseling services
  • Labor market insights and career pathway information
  • Access to training and upskilling opportunities
  • Customized, employer-hosted job fairs
