CEDAR PARK, Texas ⎯ Dell Technologies was recognized with the Employer Award of Excellence for the Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) at the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) 23rd Annual Texas Workforce Conference held December 4-6 in Dallas. The award honors private sector employers that are actively involved with Texas Workforce Solutions and have made a positive impact on employers, workers and the community.

Dell Technologies has been a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the Rural Capital Area, posting thousands of positions on WorkInTexas.com, and innovating veterans transition programs. Dell is now trailblazing recruitment efforts by expanding its Autism Hiring Program to its Round Rock headquarters.

The program offers specialized training and internships for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in partnership with The Arc of the Capital Area’s Autism Assets @ Work initiative, and Neurodiversity in the Workplace, to prepare individuals on the autism spectrum for job placement in the information technology industry. Despite ASD candidates often having skills for success in the workforce, many remain unemployed. Dell's commitment to recruiting under-tapped talent pools, bolsters opportunities for workers of all abilities, and inspires other employers to embrace neurodiversity as a competitive advantage.

“I am encouraged to see so many local businesses work with our Workforce Solutions board partners to find new ways to empower Texas workers and their communities,” said TWC Chairman and Commissioner Representing the Public Bryan Daniel. “Dell Technologies deserves applause this year for making Texas stronger by partnering with Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area.”

“We’re honored to recognize Dell Technologies for being an exemplary Rural Capital Area employer in their innovative contributions to their community, local workforce and the Texas economy,” said WSRCA CEO Paul Fletcher. “Dell recognizes that everyone has unique strengths and skills to contribute in the workplace and strives to create an environment that is inclusive and accessible for all. We commend them for their valuable work, removing barriers that may limit an individual from fully showcasing their true abilities and potential.”

“As a Texas-born and Texas based company, it is an honor to be recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission as the Local Employer of Excellence. We pride ourselves on our commitment to inclusion. Empowering people to bring their full, authentic selves to work has always been a key part of our business success in our home state and beyond,” said Brent Amundson, Vice President of Talent Acquisition at Dell Technologies.
