CEDAR PARK, Texas ⎯ Parenthood in the 21st Century presents a distinct set of challenges. Balancing modern living expenses, demanding daily schedules, and intricate pressures on both children and families can be overwhelming. Recognizing the pivotal link between the well-being of our local workforce and the stability of their families, Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA), and its partners at the RISE Center for Liberation in Early Education, proudly introduce the Parenting Palooza Family Expo.

The Parenting Palooza Family Expo, Central Texas' largest family-focused event, will bring together resources from across the region to empower families with the tools and support they need for success. Serving as a platform to access a wealth of local resources, including community service organizations, workforce development services, and Texas Rising Star Child Care providers, the Expo will empower families to confront these challenges head-on.

“At WSRCA, we recognize the integral link between the prosperity of local families, the success of regional industries, and the overall growth of the Central Texas economy," stated Paul Fletcher, WSRCA Chief Executive Officer. “The undeniable connection between workforce success and access to child care is amplified by the provision of high-quality early education—it is crucial for the advancement of our community. I invite you to join us at our inaugural Parenting Palooza Family Expo to explore a wealth of local resources, services, and opportunities all focused on empowering your family for a brighter, more prosperous future.”

“We are honored to partner with Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area in hosting the Parenting Palooza Family Expo,” said Dr. Choquette Hamilton, Founder and CEO of The RISE Center for Liberation. “The Parenting Palooza Family Expo embodies a critical step towards empowering families and fostering inclusive, culturally affirming early childhood education. At The RISE Center for Liberation in Early Education, we understand the profound impact of community-centered events like these. They provide families with essential resources and knowledge, enabling them to create environments that nurture their children's growth and potential. We commend WSRCA for their dedication to this cause, and we are proud to stand alongside them in supporting families in their journey towards equitable, liberating education.”

The expo will feature informative sessions on essential topics such as affordable family nutrition, managing screen time, breaking the cycle of ineffective communication, and navigating networks. WSRCA is delighted to announce Maureen Healy, an award-winning author, sought-after speaker, and leader in the field of children’s elementary school education, as the keynote speaker for the upcoming Parenting Palooza Family Expo. Healy's keynote address promises to be an enlightening and empowering session, offering valuable insights into raising emotionally healthy and happy children. At the conclusion of the event, parents are invited to bring their children and engage with local businesses, vendors, and early-learning child care providers.

As a gesture of gratitude, a buffet lunch will be provided for parents and children, eliminating the need to worry about packing a meal. Please be aware that complimentary child care services were initially offered for the event, but registration for these services is currently at full capacity. We extend our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

About the RISE Center for Liberation in Early Education:

The Center for Liberation in Early Childhood Education was founded in 2018 by Dr. Choquette Hamilton to directly address the inequities she observed and experienced personally with early childhood education in Central Texas. The RISE Center partners with public preschools and childcare centers to build their capacity to create anti-racist and liberated learning environments for children and their families. The RISE Center is a community-centered organization. By putting liberation at the forefront, we work with community organizations, early childhood education centers, and other stakeholders in the early childhood education space to provide anti-racist teaching training and curriculum. We do this together, through partnership and a shared commitment to social justice and education equity.
