Happy 4th of July: Safety Tips for a Fun Celebration

Happy 4th of July, parents and kids! As we approach the 4th of July, we know you and your little ones are excited to light up the night sky. But before you start with the sparklers and firecrackers, let’s talk about safety.

Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area has some quick and easy tips to ensure a fun and safe celebration for everyone in our community.

  • Following instructions is important. Read them carefully and follow them exactly. It’s all about knowing what to expect and staying safe.
  • When it comes to igniting fireworks, light them one at a time, even if it takes a bit longer. After lighting the fuse, step back. These rules significantly reduce the risk of accidents and ensures a safer celebration for everyone.
  • Secure a safe spot for everyone to enjoy the show, a safe distance away from where the fireworks are being lit.
  • Be sure to have water nearby, such as a bucket or hose, to cool the fireworks down after they are lit.

For more information on firework safety, visit the Texas Department of Insurance website: https://www.tdi.texas.gov/tips/fireworks.html.

With these safety tips in mind, it’s time to celebrate! Enjoy the fireworks magic while staying safe and sound. Let’s make this 4th of July a blast by keeping it safe and fun! Enjoy the fireworks and have a fantastic celebration.
