Honoring Veterans Every Day: Empowering Those Who Have Served

At Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA), we don’t wait for Veterans Day to say thank you. Honoring those who served is part of who we are every single day.

Many of our teammates are veterans or have family members who’ve served, so this mission is personal. We see the sacrifice, resilience, and heart that veterans and their families bring to everything they do. We also recognize that behind every veteran stands a family that’s served right alongside them. They’ve sacrificed time, stability, and comfort so their loved ones could serve our nation. That’s why both veterans and their family members are eligible for the same workforce services through our public workforce system.

Our why is simple. Those who’ve served our country deserve every opportunity to Thrive in their civilian careers.

Our How: Partnership, Personalization, and Purpose

Transitioning from military to civilian life takes courage, and it shouldn’t happen alone. At WSRCA, we walk beside veterans and their families every step of the way. We help translate military experience into civilian success stories by connecting people with the right jobs, training, and resources.

We’re proud to work alongside our partners at the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Veterans Services Team, the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC), and the Texas Veterans Leadership Program (TVLP) to provide coordinated support across Texas. Together, we form a powerful network of advocates, counselors, and career specialists dedicated to empowering those who’ve served.

TWC Veterans Services helps veterans identify transferable skills, strengthen resumes, and connect with employers who appreciate their service. Veteran Employment Representatives across Texas guide job seekers through personalized career planning, job matching, and referrals to veteran-friendly employers.

TVLP is a statewide network focused on veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Each of Texas’ 28 Workforce Development Board areas, including WSRCA, has a Veterans Resource and Referral Specialist who’s also a veteran. They know the transition experience firsthand. These specialists find veterans who need support, connect them to services that fit their goals, and coordinate referrals to employment, education, healthcare, mental health services, and benefits. They’re trusted guides who make sure no veteran has to navigate the system alone.

TVC has been the state’s advocate for veterans since 1927. The Commission helps veterans and their families access the benefits they’ve earned, including healthcare, education, financial aid, and entrepreneurship support. Its mission is built on professionalism, integrity, compassion, commitment, and teamwork, values that align perfectly with our own.

Our What: Services That Create Opportunity

At WSRCA, our role is to turn potential into progress. We connect veterans and their families with a wide range of workforce services designed to support lasting success.

We offer:

  • Career coaching and job matching tailored to each veteran’s experience and goals

  • Access to skills training and certifications to build in-demand expertise

  • Connections to veteran-friendly employers who understand the value of military service

  • Employment and training support for spouses and family members

  • Pathways for career growth and advancement to help veterans continue to Thrive

We also work closely with employers to help them recognize the value veterans bring to their teams. Veterans lead with integrity, solve problems under pressure, and strengthen morale. Those qualities make organizations better.

Our Commitment

To every veteran, every spouse, and every family member, thank you. We see your courage, we respect your sacrifice, and we’re honored to serve you as you build your next chapter.

At WSRCA, we believe honoring veterans means more than gratitude. It means action. It means walking beside you as a lifelong partner in your career journey. It means connecting you to a community that believes in your potential.

Your service inspires us. Your skills strengthen our workforce. Your success strengthens our future.

Together, we Thrive.
