Marble Falls Back-to-School Blast
Many students and families look forward to the Marble Falls Annual Back to School Blast each year. This year it was held on Saturday, August 5. Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area’s Child Care team participated in the event offering early care and education resource information to parents, fun activity books and prizes to children. The event hosted 200 volunteers, vendors, teachers, and community members who made the event possible.
Families lined up at the front of the school, eagerly waiting to be ushered in by volunteers and the Marble Middle School Marble Falls dance team cheering them on and guiding them through the halls to designated locations. These locations around the school provided free shoes, socks, backpacks, school supplies and other resources to help students start the year with confidence and enthusiasm. The event was open to all students in pre-K through 12th grade. The event hosted free haircuts and vision screenings for students.
The Back-to-School Blast was made possible by generous donations and volunteers from the community. The organizers aimed to raise $37,000 to purchase backpacks and school supplies for students. They exceeded their goal and received $38,248 in donations.
This back-to-school event is a testament to the spirit of the community’s commitment to education. It gave 1,200 students the opportunity to receive the tools they needed for their academic success and personal growth.
