Strong child care businesses are essential to a strong workforce. When providers have the tools and support they need to operate sustainably, working families benefit, employers benefit, and communities thrive.

Our partners at the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) have announced the launch of Texas Child Care Business Supports, a free statewide initiative designed to help licensed and registered child care programs strengthen business practices and day to day operations.

This new initiative connects providers to practical tools, tailored training, and personalized guidance to help them reduce stress, improve efficiency, and plan for long term sustainability. Services are available in both English and Spanish, ensuring accessibility for providers across Texas.

A Personalized Approach to Business Success

Texas Child Care Business Supports is built to adapt to the unique goals and needs of each provider. Whether operating a family child care home or a center based program, participants receive a customized learning experience that meets them where they are.

After enrolling, providers gain access to a comprehensive learning hub that includes:

  • A Business Health Assessment
  • 22 self paced learning modules
  • 30 one on one coaching topics
  • 20 plus group coaching cohort topics
  • 24 live, interactive training events

This structured yet flexible system ensures that every provider receives relevant, actionable support.

How It Works

Getting started is simple and designed to guide providers step by step. Below are the steps providers will take to begin the process:

Step 1: Register
Register here: https://texas-ccbs.learnworlds.com/
Providers will complete a short intake form using their TECPDS Workforce Registry account number and license number or operation ID. After registration, they will receive an email to finish setting up their account.

Step 2: Complete the Business Health Assessment
Participants answer a series of yes or no questions to evaluate current business practices and identify areas for growth.

Step 3: Receive a Personalized Learning Plan
Based on assessment results, providers receive a custom learning plan that includes recommended modules, training events, group coaching opportunities, and one on one support. Each provider is matched with a dedicated business coach.

Step 4: Meet with a Business Coach
Providers connect with their assigned coach to review goals, refine plans, and begin implementing strategies for improvement. Coaches serve as trusted advisors and partners throughout the process.

Practical Tools for Real World Challenges

In addition to the structured learning hub, TWC also offers a robust collection of free child care business resources. These no cost tools cover critical areas such as:

  • Business operations and automation
  • Record keeping systems
  • Financial management and budgeting templates
  • Pricing strategies and enrollment management
