WSRCA CCS Staff Retention Awards

Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area is proud to celebrate our early learning staff, who make a difference in children’s lives every day. In the efforts to build the workforce in the child care industry, we awarded deserving early learning staff the Staff Retention Award for their continued commitment to Texas children. The WSRCA team fully supports the child care industry and appreciates the early learning staff’s dedication to providing quality care.

The Director, Elisabeth Thomison, at our provider partner, Eagles Wings Child Development Center in Georgetown, was very excited to have the opportunity to honor her early learning staff by nominating them for their commitment to their roles in caring for children.

“I think so many of our folks really understand that it’s not just child care. We are building children’s brains, setting up experiences, and giving them that depth of background knowledge. The folks that have been here and are committed have that understanding that they are impacting kiddos for the rest of their lives,” said Thomison.

Throughout a child’s time in these early learning centers, these early learning staff members offer an environment that reinforces a healthy association with learning. The invaluable service these early learning staff bring to communities is vital. Early learning staff have indispensable skills that assist children with their developmental learning stages.

A recipient of the Staff Retention Award, Karen Sullivan, a teacher at Goddard School in Georgetown, understands the importance of keeping parents engaged and informed about how their children are progressing in their learning development.

Early learning staff set a foundation for children that helps them develop and thrive in an educational environment. They assist with instilling a love of learning in children and are a resource for parents who rely on early learning staff for advice on learning milestones as their children grow.

“I like watching kids grow into little people and to see them learn from what I have taught them, so they can use that knowledge when they start going to school,” said Sullivan.

The early learning centers in our communities are crucial and depend significantly on the child care services early-learning schools provide. Parents within these communities not only entrust early learning staff to provide a safe environment for their children but also to provide them with an opportunity to increase their readiness for starting school.

At our provider partner, Kids Zone Learning Center in Georgetown, Director Danielle Crais emphasized that she was happy to show appreciation to her early learning staff by nominating them for this award.

“The children are the heart and soul of this job; it’s the connections with parents and teachers that make the difference and knowing that we are making an impact on the family as a whole and getting to know them and understand how to serve children and their families better,” said Crais.

The teachers and directors of these early learning centers are committed to providing children with essential education that prepares them for future academic success. The child care centers and early learning staff are the foundation of these communities, making it possible for communities to function and contribute to children’s future success.

We are honored to recognize early learning staff for their outstanding service in caring for children and being an essential part of their local communities.
