CEDAR PARK, Texas ⎯ Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA), the nonprofit community partnership delivering innovative and sustainable workforce development solutions to empower the nine-county Rural Capital Area of Central Texas, is proud to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of the Texas Workforce Commission's (TWC) Rural Training Lab program grant.

This grant will enable WSRCA to expand its highly successful Rural Healthcare Initiative, which provides critical entry-level healthcare training to residents in rural areas. Through the Rural Training Lab, WSRCA will collaborate with local partners to offer hands-on instruction, exam preparation, CPR certification, and other vital resources. Training opportunities will focus on high-demand certifications such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), and Phlebotomy, addressing the growing need for skilled healthcare professionals in rural communities.

“This Rural Training Lab program will offer exceptional training opportunities to our rural communities, which previously lacked consistent local access to upskilling programs," stated Paul Fletcher, WSRCA CEO. "We are excited to provide these valuable opportunities to empower our communities and foster growth.”

The grant will allow WSRCA to increase training opportunities in Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Lee, and Llano counties, as well as municipalities including Buda, Taylor, Liberty Hill, Granger, and Jarrell. These expanded programs aim to equip participants with the skills needed for high-demand healthcare careers while supporting economic growth in rural communities.
