CEDAR PARK, Texas ⎯ Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA), the nonprofit community partnership delivering innovative and sustainable workforce development solutions to empower the nine-county Rural Capital Area of Central Texas, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Workforce Innovation Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). This grant supports innovative solutions to address Texas' changing workforce needs.
With the growing demand for skilled workers in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, and skilled trades, WSRCA is committed to providing job seekers, students, parents, and employers with the resources and tools needed to meet this challenge. The grant will support the creation of the virtual Career Exploration and Resource Connection Hub (CORE Hub), which will connect individuals to local internships, apprenticeships, work-readiness training programs, credentialing opportunities, and higher education pathways.
The CORE Hub will offer easy access to career exploration resources, helping students, parents, and teachers navigate pathways in these high-demand industries. It will also connect participants to training organizations, apprenticeships, and work-based learning opportunities.
“The awarded grant will enable us to expand our efforts in developing pathways, according to WSRCA CEO Paul Fletcher. This CORE Hub will play a crucial role in connecting stakeholders.”
With this funding, the CORE Hub will help local employers address workforce shortages by connecting them with skilled workers. It will also strengthen partnerships with organizations across Texas to enhance workforce development and create more career opportunities in critical industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, and skilled trades.
