CEDAR PARK, Texas — Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA), in partnership with the Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF), Austin Community College (ACC), and Workforce Solutions Capital Area, is proud to support Austin Trades Day 2025, happening Friday, November 14, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Travis County Exposition Center (7311 Decker Lane, Austin, TX).
Austin Trades Day is a hands-on career exploration event giving Central Texas students the chance to discover pathways in construction, engineering, and skilled trades. Students can build, create, and innovate through interactive exhibits and live demonstrations, from carpentry, electrical, and welding to plumbing, masonry, and design technology.
Hands-on workshops let students wire light switches, operate heavy equipment simulators, try virtual welding, build tile and flooring projects, and take part in skill challenges like screw drilling and nail driving. These experiences help connect classroom learning to high-demand, high-wage careers shaping the future of the region.
“Austin Trades Day is a powerful example of how education, industry, and workforce development come together to inspire the next generation,” said Paul Fletcher, CEO of WSRCA. “By connecting students directly with skilled professionals, tools, and training pathways, we’re helping them see careers that offer both purpose and prosperity.”
Each year, Austin Trades Day brings together educators, employers, and community partners to showcase the high-demand careers that build and sustain our region. Students can engage with industry experts, operate tools and equipment, and explore how today’s learning leads to tomorrow’s opportunities in the skilled trades.
Austin Trades Day is free for students and schools, made possible through the collaboration and generosity of industry partners and workforce organizations dedicated to building a strong and skilled Central Texas workforce.
