The unemployment rate in the Rural Capital Area of Texas remained steady at 2.4 percent in May, the same low rate recorded in April, with 892 jobs added, according to figures released today by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The 2.4 percent unemployment rate for the nine-county workforce development area, represented 12,867 residents seeking employment. The region’s unemployment rate remained below both the Texas (2.9 percent)* and national (3.4 percent)* rates.

The economy of the Rural Capital Area of Texas experienced another month of positive employment growth in April 2019, with 1,776 jobs added, according to figures released today by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The unemployment rate in the nine-county workforce development area dropped from 2.9 percent in March, down to 2.4 percent in April. The 2.4 percent unemployment rate represented 13,051 residents seeking employment. The region’s unemployment rate remained below both the Texas (3.0 percent)* and national (3.3 percent)* rates.

Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area and Marble Falls, Burnet, and Llano Economic Development Corporations Partner to Target High Demand Job Training with a $52,500 Grant

Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area has been granted a $52,500 High Demand Job Training grant to match the $56,900 in funds provided by the Marble Falls, Burnet, and Llano Economic Development Corporations. This partnership will facilitate and support the training of licensed plumbers and electricians in the construction trades, certified medical assistants in the healthcare industry, as well as bookkeeping, accounting and audit clerks throughout Burnet and Llano counties. Central Texas College will host the courses with all books, tuition, workshop equipment and supplies, and facility rental paid by the grant.

The economy of the Rural Capital Area of Texas saw positive employment growth in March 2019, with 1,095 jobs added, according to figures released today by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The unemployment rate in the nine-county workforce development area dropped from 3.2 percent in February, down to 2.9 percent in March. The 2.9 percent unemployment rate represented 15,698 residents seeking employment. The region’s unemployment rate remained below both the Texas (3.5 percent)* and national (3.9 percent)* rates.

The economy of the Rural Capital Area of Texas saw positive employment growth in February 2019, with 6,418 jobs added, according to figures released today by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The unemployment rate in the nine-county workforce development area dropped from 3.5 percent in January, down to 3.2 percent in February. The 3.2 percent unemployment rate represented 17,275 residents seeking employment. The region’s unemployment rate remained below both the Texas (3.9 percent)* and national (4.1 percent)* rates.
