Rural Capital Area Unemployment Rate Steady at 2.7% in November

The unadjusted unemployment rate in the Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area remained steady at 2.7 percent in November, the same low rate recorded in October, with 1,450 jobs added, according to figures released by the Texas Workforce Commission.

Rural Capital Area Jobless Rate Drops for Third Straight Month

The unemployment rate in the Rural Capital Area of Central Texas fell for the third consecutive month, dropping from 2.8 percent* in September, down to 2.7 percent in October, with 4,576 jobs added, according to figures released today by the Texas Workforce Commission.

Rural Capital Area Adds 3,925 Jobs in September, Unemployment Rate Drops to 2.8%

The economy of the Rural Capital Area of Central Texas saw positive employment growth in September 2019, with 3,925 jobs added, according to figures released today by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The unadjusted unemployment rate in the nine-county workforce development area dropped from 2.9 percent in August, down to 2.8 percent in September. The 2.8 percent unemployment rate represented 15,141 residents seeking employment. The region’s unemployment rate remained below the Texas and national rates, which both came in at 3.3 percent*.

In Celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Texas Workforce Solutions-Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area to Hold Weekly Seminars for Employers at Round Rock Career Center

Texas Workforce Solutions-Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VR) and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) are celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) this October by holding free weekly seminars for employers at the Workforce Solutions of Williamson County career center in Round Rock. The NDEAM seminars will be held on Mondays throughout October from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., to help employers explore opportunities to hire, retain and promote people with disabilities.

Rural Capital Area Unemployment Rate Drops to 2.9% in August

The unemployment rate in the Rural Capital Area of Central Texas saw improvement in August. According to figures released by the Texas Workforce Commission, the unadjusted unemployment rate in August for the nine-county workforce development area was 2.9 percent, down from 3.0 percent in July, and below the 3.2 percent experienced a year earlier in August 2018.
