WSRCA Invitation RS3 SDF Grant Award Ceremony

CEDAR PARK, Texas ⎯ Ryan Sanders Sports Services (RS3) has been awarded a $245,730 Skills Development Fund (SDF) Grant by the Texas Workforce Commission and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) and its community and industry partners are hosting a check signing ceremony today, February 8, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Home Run Dugout at Dell Diamond, to celebrate the excellent training opportunities offered to Central Texans.

The SDF program assists businesses and trade unions by financing the design and implementation of customized job-training projects. This fund successfully merges business needs and local customized training opportunities into a winning formula to increase the skills levels and wages of the Texas workforce. SDF grants provide training opportunities for full-time new and incumbent staff.

The grant will enhance RS3’s sports and entertainment operations, including the Round Rock Express (Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers), RS3 Turf, and RS3 Strategic Hospitality, based in Round Rock, TX. A total of 118 workers in various occupations will train in subjects ranging from food safety and heavy equipment operation to Disney-based customer service strategies and sports-oriented project management.

“We’re proud to connect great employers such as RS3 with excellent training resources such as the Skills Development Fund Grant to bolster upskilling opportunities that empower Central Texans and help local businesses expand their operations,” said WSRCA CEO Paul Fletcher. “RS3 has demonstrated its commitment to our community through the diversity of its employment opportunities and its efforts to ensure that its workforce gains the skills necessary to continue its industry-leading innovations. We’re excited to celebrate that commitment and to encourage more employers to enhance their talent supply chain through the many upskilling programs available in Texas.”

All training courses funded by the RS3 SDF grant award are being administered by MDX Safety Training & Consulting Inc., Sage Corporation, DKR Strategies LLC, and the American Society of Administrative Professionals, and include a mix of in-person, online, and hybrid options.

Commissioner Representing Employers Aaron Demerson, with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), will be serving as a keynote speaker during the check signing celebration.
