CEDAR PARK, Texas ⎯ The 28th Annual Viddy Awards today announced winners for the 2023 international awards competition recognizing outstanding achievement in video and digital production skills, and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) was honored with the competition’s highest recognition, a Platinum Award for its new series “Voices From The Field: Careers in Manufacturing.” The award-winning video features local workers at TASUS Corporation in Georgetown, Texas, sharing what they love most about their manufacturing careers and the lifestyle benefits they enjoy due to their professions. The Viddy’s recognition marks the third award the Voices series has received and comes after WSRCA has been honored with 12 communications awards for outstanding nonprofit outreach campaigns and videos since the pandemic.
The Viddy Awards, formerly the Videographer Awards, are one of the most coveted awards in the video industry. Since 1994, thousands of production and communication professionals have entered their best and most creative work. The goal of the Viddy Awards is to identify and recognize video artisans who excel in the scope of their own environment. Winners range from network news operations to local cable access, from large production companies to freelancers, and from international advertising agencies to student producers.
Each year over 2,500 video entries are submitted from the United States, Canada, and 17 other countries. Winners are selected from hundreds of categories. The Platinum Award is awarded to those projects that the AMCP judges deem are written, produced, shot and/or edited in an exceptional manner. AMCP judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
“There is a need for more immersive content that connects our residents with careers in high demand by humanizing our local industries and the sustainable workforce opportunities they have available,” said WSRCA CEO Paul Fletcher. “The ‘Voices From The Field’ campaign reflects our intentional efforts to provide that resource for Central Texans, and we couldn’t be more pleased that it continues to be recognized for the value the series offers. Congratulations to our partners at TASUS, and to Sergio Palomo, Lorena Arriza, and Steven Rodriguez for sharing their manufacturing stories.”
“We’re driven to share stories that empower our communities by celebrating our world-class Texas workforce,” said WSRCA Chief Storyteller Brian Hernandez. “For far too long the manufacturing sector has struggled to recruit talent amid inaccurate misperceptions and antiquated notions of the types of careers available within this vital sector. We’re grateful to the TASUS Corporation, and its remarkable team, for allowing us to pull back the curtain and showcase the reality of modern advanced manufacturing in Central Texas, by celebrating the local creative professionals building the world-class products that we use every day. Thank you to the Viddy Awards for this recognition and to Red Jarrah Productions for helping us create more value for audiences through our videos and features.”
