WSRCA Honored with 2 Communicator Awards

CEDAR PARK, Texas ⎯ The winners of the 29th Annual Communicator Awards have been announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) was recognized with the competition’s highest honor, an Award of Excellence for Outstanding Nonprofit Video, and an Award of Distinction for Outstanding Nonprofit Integrated and Multi-Channel Outreach Campaign. The award-winning content includes WSRCA’s video series, “Voices From The Field: Careers In Manufacturing,” featuring local workers at TASUS Corporation in Georgetown, TX, sharing what they love most about their manufacturing careers and the lifestyle benefits they enjoy as a result of their professions, and WSRCA’s “Future Ready” Youth Career Exploration Campaign, featuring RC, the Future Ready Fox mascot, connecting local classrooms to area careers in high-demand.

The dual recognition by the Communicator Awards in 2023 comes after WSRCA was honored last year with nine awards for outstanding nonprofit videos and outreach campaigns.

“We’re committed to building a world-class workforce for Texas, and we’re honored that our unique outreach campaigns and original content continue to be praised for their quality, as well as the value they provide for our industries and communities,” said WSRCA CEO Paul Fletcher. “We’re grateful for the support of TASUS Corporation in the development of the ‘Voices’ video, and our K-12 outreach team and communications staff for their collaborative efforts to find new ways every day to empower residents of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds with local labor market information.”

“Our amazing Board of Directors continually challenges us to explore new ways to amplify awareness of the customized workforce solutions we offer, and we’re proud to be recognized by the Communicator Awards for our efforts to innovate and deliver on that shared vision,” said WSRCA Chief Storyteller Brian Hernandez. “Our award-winning outreach strategies and content are a storytelling force multiplier that celebrates the work of the talented teams throughout our offices, who strive to enhance workforce and child care opportunities within our communities. A special thanks go out to WSRCA Chief Solutions Officer Kelly Moreno and the Workforce Career and Education Engagement Team (Amanda Bailey, Laura Richter, and RC) for their collaboration on the ‘Future Ready’ campaign, as well as Tracy Jackson, Sergio Palomo, Lorena Arriza, and Steven Rodriguez with TASUS, for their participation in our ‘Voices’ project. We’d also like to thank Red Jarrah Productions for helping us create more value for audiences through our videos and features.”

With around 3,000 entries received from across the US and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. Winners who shared the highest honor with WSRCA include Bank of America, Groove Jones, PBS, Hearts & Science, Pepsico, George Mason University, and AARP, among others.

The Communicator Awards are judged and curated by the AIVA, an assembly of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current AIVA membership represents a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms, including GE Digital, Spotify, Condè Nast, Disney, Accenture Song, Superfly, Fast Company, Digitas, and many others.
