Celebrating the Week of the Young Child
Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) invites you to celebrate The Week of the Young Child, April 1-7, 2023. This week-long event aims to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
The Week of the Young Child is essential because it highlights early childhood education's critical role in a child's development. It also provides an opportunity for educators, parents, and communities to come together and advocate for policies and programs that support young children and their families.
The early years matter and are critical for young children. It’s vital for young children to have access to early-learning schools. Providing a child with early learning sets the foundation for children and prepares them for the next stage of education.
The WSRCA team appreciates our partners in early learning schools for providing the care and education essential for children’s development. With their support and engaging educational environments, they set the high-quality standards that children need to thrive—giving children the fundamentals to succeed.
From cradle to career, we strive to help children reach their fullest potential to become our communities’ future workforce. We encourage everyone to participate and spread the word about the importance of empowering children and their families with a quality education.
This event is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the most prominent early childhood education association worldwide, and is known for coining the celebration.
The Week of the Young Child will be celebrated by children, teachers, families, and communities nationwide, all connecting through an array of activities that nurture early education; you can participate in this event with ideas on creative projects you want to do with your community.
