How to Use the Texas Child Care Connections Portal

The Texas Child Care Availability Portal helps parents find licensed child care services. It provides a directory of providers and information on accreditation, making it easier for families to make informed choices.

Step 1: Apply for Services or Log into Account:

1. Click here to apply for the child care waitlist or log into your Child Care Connections Portal.


Step 2: Change the Language (if needed)

1. Locate the Language Selection Option:

  1. Look for the language selection menu at the top-right corner of the webpage.
  2. It may appear as a globe icon or a dropdown labeled with the current language (e.g., "English" or "Español").
  3. Select Your Preferred Language:
    • Click the language selection menu and choose your desired language (e.g., Español for Spanish).
      Confirm the Language Change:
    • The page will refresh automatically, displaying content in the selected language.


Step 3: Search for Child Care Providers
1. On the homepage, locate the search bar.

2. Enter your desired search criteria:

        • Location: Input your city, ZIP code, or address to find providers near you.
        • Age Group: Select the appropriate age group for your child.
        • Distance: Specify the search radius (e.g., within 5 miles).

3. Click the "Search" button to display a list of child care providers matching your criteria.

Step 4: Review Search Results
1. Browse through the list of providers. Each entry includes:
 Provider Name
   • Address
   • Contact Information
   • Availability Status
   • Quality Ratings (if applicable)

2. Click on view more information about the provider's to view detailed information, such as:
    • Operating Hours
    • Services Offered


Step 5: Contact a Child Care Provider

1. After selecting a provider, use the provided contact information to reach out and inquire about enrollment,     schedule a visit, or ask any specific questions.

• Filter Options: Utilize available filters to narrow down your search based on specific needs, such as language preferences, special programs, or quality ratings.


• Regular Updates: Provider availability is updated regularly. If you don't find suitable options immediately, consider checking back later.
