Celebrating Baby Day Event in San Marcos

Last Saturday, April 27th, the littlest members and their families celebrated Baby Day and Dia Del Nino in San Marcos, Texas. Baby Day is the only statewide event celebrating young children’s first three years of life.

This exciting event was also celebrated in the surrounding Rural Capital Area cities, Lockhart and Round Rock. This event highlights the importance of early learning experiences for young children and showcases how vital early education is for reaching their full potential.

The First3Years presented the event at the San Marcos Public Library. The event was filled with helpful resource booths for parents and fun activities for infants and toddlers from local organizations, such as baby yoga, gain bubble blowing, ball play pits, stackable soft blocks, and plenty of other activities that make for adorable moments for families and caregivers alike.

Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area participated in the event by providing an exciting story walk that illustrates the “Hippo No Nada” story by Pablo Bernasconi.

Families could engage in a story walk by taking a short walk between the two events to view interactive large prints of each page displayed in English and Spanish. Parents could read aloud to their families as they strolled through downtown San Marcos.

The Baby Day event was a success. It provided valuable information resources for parents regarding their child's developmental needs and was a good reminder that nothing is more important than cherishing our moments with our little ones.
